Competition: Redevelopment and New Layout of the Piazzale Ex Scuole, Lugano (Switzerland)

The project for Piazzale Ex Scuole di Lugano transforms an empty square into a vibrant green heart of the city. With around 90 new trees, permeable surfaces, and sustainable materials, it creates shade, improves air quality, and enhances biodiversity. Reorganized mobility connects seamlessly to the historic center, while new public spaces, playgrounds, and light timber structures make the square a lively, resilient place for community life and events.
